Hello everyone,
If you've seen my other post you will know I have a crack in my engine block in the water jacket and I just have to make it last till I can afford another engine. The rear main seal is a leaky, as from I understand is a common issue and it chooses to dump onto my exhaust. Clouds of smoke roll from underneath every time I stop and it honestly makes me uncomfortable,er\ anyone ever make a shield to cover the exhaust in a way that reduces or stops the oil from burning off because from what understand it's a fire risk and I'd like to restore this XJ not let it catch fire.

It's really not much of a fire risk, but it might get you pulled over. You can rig up a shield from a piece of sheet metal purchased at your local hardware store, or use some aluminum roof flashing. Something like this or this.
