one more question before I go, hopefully it gets seen in this thread and I don't have to make another. Is this everything I need to do a catback exhaust? Looks like everything the dynomax kit comes with, but I want to make sure. Also, when replacing the muffler at the cat, will I need to cut the old one off, or once the clamp is off, will it pull out of the cat? anyways hows this parts list, am I missing anything?

dynomax muffler

walker tail pipe

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/r...7214/5600510-P

2 1/4" muffler clamp (x2)

this is for a 98 cherokee. is that all I need? oh, and that tail pipe can be bolted on, doesnt have to be welded, right? looking to do a cheapo exhaust just to replace the rotten one. I am going to coat all the parts with high temp silver to try to make them last a little longer. But with a coupon code, this makes this a <$100 exhaust kit that I can pick up locally.

thoughts?!

With that muffler's specs being close to stock I'd say your good to go. You can clamp the tailpipe to the muffler but I'd suggest is you go with the proper band clamp. Couldn't find one at AA's site. Put some hi-temp rtv on the inside pipe. Slip them together. Put some rtv around the seam. Install the clamp.

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks to be a butt style band clamp where two pipes of the same diameter are butted together inside the clamp. You want a lap style band clamp. When you slip one pipe inside another you end up with two diff outside diameters. Look at that NAPA one and you can tell it's for joining two diff OD pipes.
