Default everytime it get's hot outside (100+) My XJ pukes it's Ignition coil

so last year on 07/06/2011 my XJ died on the highway, replacing the ignition coil fixed this.

today on 7/6/2012 the ignition coil went out again... it was 105F outside...

so why does this keep happening, and WHAT can be done about it?

I agree that this is likely a bizarre coincidence. It happens.

Ignition coils are generally pretty hardy but they can fail. Replace it with a quality OEM style coil and you are not likely to have another fail.

I would NOT recommend an MSD or ACCEL coil (are you using either of these?) as they are linked to premature failure and really don't provide you with anything more than a standard coil can for a stock 4.0 engine.

May be the coil had a one year warranty and it just "expired"?

Sorry, could not resist...
