and your leaves must love you when compressed. that much shackle is a recipe for sagged/broken leaf springs.

did you add bumpstop to prevent the leaves from overcompressing?

if you like it, then thats all that matters, but i wouldnt be caught with something like that on my rig
my rear setup is temp., i dont care if it kills the leafs it was a old rc 3 inch full pack and i added shackles and then some ****ty blocks, my fronts were all the $$$, no shortcuts up there. I just gotta start putting money elsewhere with a baby on the way...

Do it right the first time applies to this situation. Why couldn't you have waited to get some more money to buy a decent rear lift?

So you have blocks, 9" long shackles, and 7 leafs for your lift in the rear. Why?

And if you spent all that money up front why are you wasting it with a rear like that? Doesn't make much sense to me is all.

ok so i spent 350 dollars on control arms, i spent 150 on the 6.5 inch coils
20 dollars on the .5 inch spacers. Plus the stablizer and shocks. I find out my gf is pregnant. I in the meantime have a 4.5 inch rear. The shackles i planned on switching to rc 2 inch shackles and buying their 6.5 inch full packs. So i not wanting to spend the least amount of money as possible get a lift from uncle that he had sitting in his junk yard on another xj for 50 dollars for front and back, i sell the 3 inch coils for 65 dollars and make out 15 ahead, i take that pack and add my old top spring and bottom spring.i then add 30 dollar blocks to it so it sits level. I understand its ****ty. I just spent last night 200 dollars on a sye. I am 17 and am going to have responsblities. Raising a kid or jeep? It's hard to choose. not really. The kid will come first. I am the only income. I work max. hours for all but minium wage. I need to find a place to live to for my new family. So if i have a ****ty built rear and a 600 dollar plus built front on my jeep for now, so be it. Itll be built down the road. Front and Back Lockers with 4.88 gears and 35s, exocage and roll cage. Even so, the rear outflexes many jeeps in my area. So plans change.

Cool

I made my own once. Added about 1 1/2 inches to the shackle and welded a piece of 1 1/4 angle between them. Also dropped the shackle mount down from the frame 2 inches and moved it 1 1/2 forward to improve the springs total arch. Gave it an over all of 4 inch lift and really stiffened her out. I didn't off road it though.....I was just making my 67 javlin a little cooler and Jacked, which was what we did in the 70's

i wish it was easier to drop the mount on mine... looks pretty much impossible without crazy fabricating...
