Default Evaporator Question...Wire??

I just got done removing my dash and swaping out my evaporator, but the only thing that baffles me is the the replacement one I used was slightly different from the one that was stock. On the rear of the stock one there was a small copper pin with a white wire running in it. The replacement one didnt have this. What is this wire used for? Is it some kind of temp sensor or something?

Default Same Problem

I have this same deal. the new replacement evaporators do not have the tube, and or switch. Did they just do away with it? What is required to bypass thermostat? Anyone?

If you hold the evaporator up to the light, you will see the path of the internal work. Stick the thermostat wire/probe between some fins without puncturing anything. It should push thru very gently with minimal pressure. I did this and it worked fine with no problems when I had my jeep. Hope this makes sense and helps you out.
