Default Ethanol in our 4.0's

Hi all.
Just curious, has anyone seen any research or info on the possible negative affects of this new era of fuels with the 10% ethanol content "blend" with older motors like our 4.0s ?
And/or if there is a good way to help combat this for extending their life as I'm guessing they were not designed to burn that stuff.

We have had Ethanol in my area for years. Cant' get a way from it. I have yet to have any issues with any of my vehicles due to it. For any of my vehicles that sit with gas in them for extended periods of time I use the blue Sta-bil which is for Ethanol gas.

There is no ill effect you need to worry about and all Jeep models from 1986 on are e10 compatible . The only thing you might worry about it in is winter storage in your lawn mower , weedeater , generator , boat etc it doesnt store near as well as old gas and tarnishes etc faster than non ethanol gasoline . You likely won’t have any issue over just winter storage I never do ... but if you’re concerned drain your gas prior to storage or long periods of sitting .

The motor is fine. It's the fuel hoses that go to pot. I don't care how long it's been around.

I go to Maverick and buy their ethanol free gas.

When ethanol sits and contacts water it gells up. At least that is how it was explained to me. Big problem for marine engines.
