Default Enough clearance?

I am hoping to finish up my dual e-fan conversion today. All I need to do now is make my shroud out of acrylic sheet and then bolt/wire everything in (harnesses already made).

Question... does this look to be enough clearance between the fan pulley bolts and the e-fan motor?

I have motor mounts that were replaced about 3 years ago with no signs of deterioration, as well as the trans mount. The center 'nub' of the pulley is of no concern despite the illusion of the picture saying otherwise; it sits about 1/2-1" above the e-fan motor 'nub'.

I really think this is as close as I can get it.

Also, any need for a fuse in the 'signal wire' going to the relay? Im tapping into the ballast resistor wire for a 'key on only' source. The actual fan power supply through the relay does have a dedicated fuse installed.

Nope. It hardly takes anything to throw a relay. A hot stock wire will do the trick.

Are you mounting the fans right against the radiator? I ran into this issue a while ago- every time I'd throw it in reverse the motor would shift forward a 1/4inch and the nuts that held the (airplane propeller) fan on would grind the plastic face of the fan off. Well, after that radiator took a hit from my winch hook, I replaced it with a single row and it brought the fans much further back, leaving more room in there.

What surprised me was the gain in airflow with just another half inch of space between the engine and fans. I think it made up for going from a 2-row to a 1-row radiator.

If you don't mind the occasional grinding sound, and if your motor mounts are in really good shape, just let it eat some of the plastic on the fan. For me, once it shaved off about a millimeter of plastic it didn't contact anymore.
