Hey guys I'm a little baffled. I have a 1996 jeep XJ sport. 4.0l manual. And when the jeep is cold it starts fine. After about 5 min. I will shut jeep off and when I go to restart, she just turns over and won't fire unless u hold it 1/4 throttle. Then she starts and won't idle ( if I let of gas it just stalls). Unless u rev it up a bunch and she will smooth out untill next time.


I have no check engine light and it has a tune up and new crank pos sensor.

Any thoughts ?

 

I'd check your throttle position sensor. When they start to go bad, heat can mess with them. Good luck and post what you find!

 

What CPTslackass said.. I would add check/clean the IAC valve.
