engine wont start

Default engine wont start

i woke up this morning and went out to my jeep and went to turn the key and all it did was crank....i put the pedal to the floor and still didnt fire....pulled a spark plug and it was dry..no gas...i cranked it long enough that the plug shouldve been wet with gas but its not....can a fuel pump go bad overnite because it ran fine last night

Yep, they often go without a warning, but start cheap, check the fuse and replace the relay first.

alrite heres an update...i took the fuel line off that goes into the fuel rail and when i turned the key some gas came out but then when i cranked on it it stopped putting out gas...dont know if its suppose to be pumping while it cranking or if something else is wrong

Take a test light and see if the ground on the negitive side of the coil is pulsing while cranking. If not, could be a crank sensor or a cam sensor. If the PCM does not see an RPM signal it will shut the fuel pump off.

ok im gonna check to see if i have spark on the plugs...i sprayed ether in and it fired a few times but never actually started... makes me think theres not enough spark but idk how a coil could bad from sitting overnite

Coils don't go bad very often. I think you have a fuel problem, not a spark problem.

test the crank sensor, they tend to go bad overnite

If you take the fuel line off and crank it you should have a lot of gas pump out.
If you take a spark plug out and hook it back up to the wire, have someone crank your engine for about 2-3 sec and make sure it is sparking.

If you have fuel and spark then its got to be the sensor, its on the bell housing of the trans at 11 o'clock

i have no spark and the the injectors arent opening...replaced the coil and that did nothing...

find the problem with no spark and fix that, then go from there. It could be your ignition module. That was my problem once.

Yes, it is located on the bellhousing at the 11 oclock position.

before you go any farther please check th most little things first because it could very well be a cheap part then a very exspensive part!
