So here's the rundown on my engine...

95 head
89 block, pistons, crank
95 high output oil pump (brand new)
95 lifters (brand new)
95 timing gears/chain (brand new)
95 camshaft
00 intake
95 exhaust

I replaced the pump due to pressure dropping after warming up.
Replaced lifters due to current noise, did not fix the issue, though previous lifters where all collapsed.
Drained the 10w-30 valvoline/seafoam (new)
Replaced with 15w-40 diesel.
No change in noise, it's subtle at idle, god awful at 1200-2500 rpm.

When replacing the pump I inspected the skirts for cracking/missing pieces... Nothing came up, nor is there any debris in the oil, the engine is very clean, no sludge or blockages...

Rods, lifters, cam, and pump where all lubed and primed prior to starting the engine, they're all pumping oil.

I'm idling at about 35psi.

The rings seem fine, block has 160k on it, cylinders still have the rotational scratching from factory.

The exhaust manifold had plenty of cracks that I welded up, so it's not an exhaust noise.

Cam bearings?
Crank bearings?

Need this baby repaired asap, big trip on the 17th!!

I don't think it would be cam bearing that makes more of a grinding noise or squeak metal on metal I would pull the pan and see if you have any play in the rod/crank bearings or even the piston wrist pin bearings

Might be the flex plate. Many people think it's engine related when this thing start to act up.

Sounds like detonation to me.
You may have upped your compression ratio when doing those mods. Try running a higher grade gas next tank.

It sounded the same before/after lifters and pump.
Sounded fine when it got the intake manifold
But I will try on next fill, but it won't be getting filled at this rate lol.

Popped pan (80th time now?) to check for play, cam is solid as a rock, the crankshaft as well, BUT the rod bearings had play both back and forth, and less but existent, up and down.
Time to replace them? Or is that normal?? Fingers crossed!!

Pulled the rod bearings, one was snapped in half, others where overheated and discolored, all had play.
Cost me less than $40 for the set, I'll be replacing
The mains too, I'll let you know how it sounds after, thanks guys!!

Not as bad as you'd think, it's still very smooth, I'll hit it with some emery cloth and hope for the best, I really don't want to drop my transmission again at this point.
