Alright she's up and running. So far running good. Good oil pressure it didn't over heat or anything.
But...at idle sitting in side its vibrating pretty bad I can hear it go through the whole jeep. But out side of it there's no vib. And dont hear any unusual under neath.
It did put new motor mounts in so maybe that's sending vibrations through out the whole thing inside. Idk...
What do u guys think?

Did you make sure the torgue converter had 2-3 qts of ATF in it before installing it? How about the tranny?
Whats the condition of the tranny mount?
Are your mounts OE style rubber or aftermarket poly?

trans fluid is good.
the vibration does mellow out when i rev the engine, its there in park reverse neutral and drive. it was hard to tell if it was there driving cause my test drive was quick and on a dirt road.
the vibration is pretty wierd, how it goes through the whole inside but nothing outside.
what should i look for to determine if trans mounts r shot?
i didnt have this vib before the swap. and i did use a jack on trans when putting engine in and maybe lifted it 2 inchs or so.
could the distributor still be off a little maybe? evan tho it sounds good.

Possibly, but you'd get a CEL (P1398)

since the motor mounts r new im just going to do the trans mount anyways and see what happens. gotta narrow down what it could be.
I did NOT unbolt the trans mount when i lifted it...
And after I got it running I had no CEL or codes.

If your idle is steady, and your engine sounds good, then I doubt it's your timing or anything in the engine. Vibes are going to come from mounting spots and rotating points (i.e. driveshaft u-joints, flexplate/ torque converter, etc.). Replace the tranny mount, especially if it is stock. Usually new motor mounts will lead to the failure of an old tranny mount.

well it was the trans mount! smoothed it right out.
even tho i broke one of the four studs on it.
so u guys think I should get an other one and swap it again or is one less bolt not a big deal??
It didnt take very long to do but man i sure hate doing something twice.
oh yea and my oil pan has a couple pin holes so I have to swap that out for sure
. somethings u gotta learn the hard way i guess.

The new trans mount broke a stud? How tight did you torque them? Maybe it's just me, but I'd replace it if a stud broke from the new mount. Hell, if you didnt tighten it that much and it still broke, take it back for a replacement. Also, did you use locktite on those 2 bolts that hold the mount to the t-case? And use anti-seize or something on the bolts in the tranny crossmember... dont ask why I tell you this. Broken bolts suck.
Should I have use a torque wrench on them? normally i double check the repair manuals but i didnt have them today.
and i broke one of the crossmemeber bolts takin it out at first, that was almost an hour of drilling to get that out an another 20mins of fishing a bolt through to fix that.
It sucks but im gonna have to get another. I havent half assed anything on this engine swap so far and i shouldnt start now. trans mount again and swap the oil pan the hard way(engine installed) and im all done! hopefully...
