Ok, for all you Jeep Cherokee experts:

Driving my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Pull out onto the road and it stalls. It won't start and when the key is turned it just clicks, almost like the sound of a bad starter, lights. Have it towed to the mechanic, it starts right up (imagine that). They say they can't find anything wrong. Any ideas?

 

try to check the ground connections on the battery terminal also the ground connection that connects to the fender from the battery ground terminal

 

Intermittent ground/wiring issue? Is the CEL on any codes?

 

Did they test the battery and alternator at the shop?

 

Do you get dash lights after it stalls? How does your battery gauge on your dash look? I'm gonna agree with the above posts on possible ground issue.

 

A bad starter will not cause a stall. Wiggle your wiring harness when running and see if it stalls

 

Mechanic replaced ignition coil. We will see.

 

Whats the word? I am having the same issue with my XJ now.

However, when I go to start it it will crank and crank. I have fuel at the rail and have did the asd Relay swap. will now be checking for spark.
