This is a good question. Mine overheated once, but since hasnt. It does run hotter than I'd like since, and fluctuates widely (180 to 222) with no real common symptom. I am just waiting for the next time it runs up to 220+ and keeps going.


After it overheated I did have it power flushed, they said everything looked decent.

Someone said if the upper hose is really rigid, then its the thermostat. That didn't really make sense to me since the hose is downstream so to speak from the thermostat, so if the thermostat isn't opening, it should not be rigid.


What I think is happening is flow through the radiator is slow, so it fills up the hose making it feel rigid?
