. my main problem is my engine keeps turning off. i bought brand new relays. but it keeps going off. and i start it again it just. turns off . leaving a smell of gasoline. people tell me is my (TPS) other is my fuel pump. i need help badly

 

You need to do some testing.

It could be fuel related. Check fuel pressure.

It could be electrical related. Have your local auto parts store test your battery and alternator.

It could be your crankshaft position sensor.

How does it crank? Slowly or quickly? How fast does it start up?

 

slow. and sometime fast it is a 1988 its being on a car accident

 

Does anything else shut down along with the engine? Dash? Lights? Radio?

If you are getting a gas smell, it's probably ignition related. If it always starts right back up, I wonder if your ignition switch is becoming intermittent?

 

ok i manage to get it fix but my new questions is will a 89 alternator fit on a 88

 

I would assume so
