ENGINE OIL
i changed my oil about a week ago, after i was done it said i was in the "safe" area on the dipstick.....today i checked it cold......it like 2 1/8ths of a inch below safemark into the add area......would running it barely this low hurt the engine?
add some oil probably wont hurt but just add it to be safe because after a while chances are you will drip some more out or burn it off then it might be to low its just cheap insurance

Why would you even consider running it low. I mean you prolly won't hurt it but damn just put some oil in it. and 2 1/8's is a 1/4 might be easier to say.

no not leaking oil,i just changed it warm, and when i was done it said full, then tonight im at my friends parents to do some interior trim work, and i decided to check it cold and it was a hair low under the safe area.to the other fella no,i dont have any oil on hand and its 10pm and im 20 miles from a store that might have oil.and even if then i got about 2.75 to my name,so thats why i was asking if it ok to drive like i did.and to the other guy....it does what its told or it gets the hose again

Add some oil. Getting into the add area means you are at least a quart low. You want to run with the oil registering in the upper 1/4 of the safe zone. Oil is the most important part of your engine, it is absolutely necessary to keep it fresh and full.

^^^^^ couldn't have said it better myself. ALWAYS keep an eye on your oil and your cooling system. 2 very important things.
