Engine dies when driving, head lights, heater remain on, why?!
I have a 1993 Jeep Cherokee.
Recently when driving the engine cuts out and oil light comes on.
Head lights and heater stay on during this process.
I pull over, turn key off, wait a minute and Jeep starts just fine.
Dashboard lights go on and off at random while driving as well. (inside light and headlights remain on)
What is going on?
All help is much appreciated!

A failing crank sensor would be my first suspicion. They often doesn't set a code. They generally start failing one of two ways. They either get weak and cause a no-start or dying at low rpm, or they get heat sensitive and cut out when they get hot (which sound like you issue). If you can find one, Mopar brand is best. They're nearly impossible to find and expensive. Try to at least get a name brand like standard. A lot of the cheap chinese ones are garbage and it's not unusual to get a bad one out of the box.
Is this happening when you hit a bump, or when turning? That might point more towards a wiring issue.

CPS wouldnt explain the dashlights though?
Maybe there are several things going on.
But does sound like an intermittent electrical issue, and nothing easier to diagnose than those!
I'd start with cleaning up all grounds and battery connections if not done. Even as a maintenance thing its good to do. Bad grounds can cause all kinds of weird issues so that needs to be excluded.
While you are there, clean connectors and re-seat them, you might be surprised what you find.
