Head Light Feature
I've been doing a lot with lighting in my Jeep and was wondering if there was any way to disable the feature that leaves the headlights on after the engine is turned off if you don't turn the lights off prior to turning it off. I read somewhere that this may be called the sentinel feature. I gotta say, its probably the dumbest feature ever.

Yeah, I've gone back to the car countless times to make sure I turned them off. I'm still trying to break the habit of turning the lights off after powering down. I may be looking into this rewiring thing. Also, I am going to ask a friend of my dad's who has worked on Jeeps for 30+ years at a dealership. Maybe he'll know a easier way. *fingers crossed*

Worse is my wifes car the Head lights turn OFF with the key, but the parking/marker lights stay on. I'm always leaving the lights on when I use the Car. Have the Jeep wired so that if the Key is off the lights go off, Just like my Bike.

With my Cherokee being black, I'm constantly getting cut-off, run off the road, etc...people just don't see me...anyway, I use this feature as a daytime running lights. Soon as I start my jeep, I pull the light switch, and shut it back off. Head lights will stay on, then when I get where I'm going they will shut off w/ the key. And with the HID's I don't almost get killed every day any more. It's made me make sure to turn 'em off at night time too, so they don't stay on for how ever long.

Where I used to live I had no driveway light so the Sentinel feature was one of the best things the Jeep had. X2 on checking the marker lights, if they're off, then the light switch is off.

How about turn the lights off first, then shut the car off. Also its somewhat of a safety feature gives you some light while you get in the house. Its nice if the wife is using it.
