Default Engine cut out over hard bump

Finally got the 96 SE that I picked up at auction finished enough to drive. Most of the work work was replacing the carpet, a good cleaning, changed all the fluids and tuned it up with new plugs/wires/cap/rotor and a new serp belt.

Drove it to work for the first time today, before only around the neighborhood.

Coming down the road at about 55-60 and hit a bump the engine died, coasted 20 feet, back running...thought that was odd, but running good again so meh...

After the DMV ( nice lunch time lobotomy ), zipped over some railroad tracks at about 35 and engine quits, then a second later back running.

I am assuming loose connection somewhere, going to start with the grounds, then wiggle some wires.

This thing is 18 years old, I can't be the first to experience this, anyone seen this before and can point me to a starting point that may shorten my search?

Thanks for your review in advance.

Check your crank positioning sensor wires. They are routed up the back of the engine. Mine were routed improperly and melted from touching the exhaust. It gets annoying really fast when wheeling when you hit every bump and the engine dies.

Thanks AZ89MJ, I was able to pull the code P0320 out of the computer (even though no CEL on) and it appeared there may have been a slight rub thru right where the wires lay on the intake. I taped them up and cleared the code. Will see what happens on the way into work today. That CPS looks like no fun to replace...
