After a good nights sleep I took a second look this morning rechecking the CPS and got the same result, 0.02 ohms across pins B-C. I attempted to start the engine with the CPS disconnected, as expected no start but... I can hear the what I think is the fuel pump run for a few seconds (always wondered what that sound was) so I checked and have gas at the FI inspection port.

I also see that my voltage and gas gage is working and oil pressure gage moves and then goes back to zero. Plugging the CPS back in, I do not hear fuel pump, no fuel pressure and gauges do not work. Some research indicates the CPS may check good but still be bad, I am really temped to just buy one and try it.

Tried to restart, still no start but turned key off and plugged in OBDII scanner and got code P1694?

A pic of the Astra system, I tried unplugging all connectors from the two black boxes but still no start. I am out of time this weekend and wont have time look in FSM for other help but electrical is not my strong suit so any help would be apricated.

Here's an easy test you can run:

Pull the ASD and fuel pump relays. Probe the slots where they live to see if you get the correct readings there. You can make a handy probe by using a standard .250 male disconnect. It would be even better to make a fused test probe to avoid accidents. Just grab an inline fuse holder and crimp a male quick disconnect on one end, a female on the other, and you have a very nice probe for relay sockets.

You should have one relay slot that is hot all the time (corresponds to terminal 30 on the relay - should be marked on the bottom or side of the relay itself), and two which are open, then one which switches to 12v when the key is turned on.

If you get that, next check the remaining terminals (the two that aren't hot) to see if you get ground when the key is turned on.

Here's what the terminals are, and the corresponding function:

C2 Battery+ all the time. (Fed from 25A fuse # 18 in the PDC)
C4 Switched Battery + (when key is on)
C5 Not used
C6 Ground when key is on, otherwise no connection
C8 Output. Should show a partial ground.

When I added OBDII to the search, I did come up with one site that pointed to the CPS, so, back to what I said earlier, I think it's reasonable to go there now.

I ordered a CPS today, hope to pick it up on Tuesday and install after work, if I have time.

Remove the uppermost bolt first, and install it last. You don't want to drop that baby into the bellhousing.

I used a little bit of tape around the bolt and socket when I put the bolts back in. That was a bit of an awkward install for me on my '00. Was so afraid of dropping one of them in the bellhousing even though my cover was still there.

Either way. Since you have the CPS ordered, you could just wait and see what that does. But it wouldn't hurt to do the test at all.

Picked up the CPS from the Jeep dealer this evening and installed, turned the key and it started up, gauges are working and everything appears to be back to normal. Thanks to everyone four your suggestions and support but a special thank you to BlueRidgeMark for sticking with me through the process of getting back on the road.

As for aftermarket alarm, I will leave it in for now but the next time it acts up it's getting replaced I don't care about an alarm, but really enjoy the keyless entry and on cold days a remote start is nice,
