Default Engine Cleanin???

Need a easy but good way to clean my engine, stopped runnin in a mud pit, engines got baked on mud thats not comin off with a water hose.

Got a oil leak some where need to find it, hard with a mud engine.

Best way to clean it is with a steam pressure washer and degreaser. Bag or otherwise seal off all electronics and go to town on it.

You've dodged a bullet. Wet TPS usually equals instant failure. Don't tempt fate.

These ^^

This is how i did mine,
Disconnect battery ground
Cover sensors with aluminum foil, including you ECU and Fuse/Junction box.
Spray with Purple Power...wait 10-15 mins
Pressure wash
Dry engine bay with leave blower
Connect battery ground

Done.

I used a garden hose with spray attachment and did a good job with a good degreaser. Just stay away from any electronics.

+1. They are an unsealed carbon potentiometer. They were never intended to see water (you'd have to submerge the jeep) and aren't protected against it.

I've washed my motor 5 times this month alone and never had a single problem with anything and I do not cover or protect anything.
I use simple green in a spray bottle a tooth brush and or a toilet brush and rag and it's clean. Sometimes it's running if I'm just rinsing it off or if I'm getting in there with a brush it's off.

Some have luck, some don't.
But, best of luck.
