Engine check code 12* 14* MAP SENSOR

Default Engine check code 12* 14* MAP SENSOR

Jeep asent been starting so i check the engine light on my 95 jeep(you have to turn the key 3 times and wait for the flash) I got 12 and 14* it says my map senor voltage is to low....WHAT DO I DO? I know they 12 means my battery was disconnected form the battery im aware of that

Forget about code 12; it's informational only. A code 12 means that memory to the controller has been cleared within 50-100 engine starts, which can occur whenever the battery terminals are disconnected, battery completely dies, etc. Does this relate to your vehicle lately?

Code 14 means that the MAP sensor is not operating correctly. Unplug the wiring harness from the sensor (and closely inspect all MAP sensor wiring) Connect a voltmeter to the two outside terminals of the plug and then turn the ignition key to the "on" position. If the meter reads about 5 volts, then the problem is in the MAP sensor.

If you end up purchasing a MAP sensor, I recommend buying a MOPAR Map sensor directly from Jeep for best reliability.

Could i just replace it? I dont have volt meter

Yes .Id remove negative battery cable for about 15 minutes first to clear codes. Then try restart then recheck codes to make sure its still showing 14.

The close went away but still wont start
