Default Electronics shut off!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so ig to a problem with my electrical. Sometimes my radio, ac, blinkers, and all that good stuff will just shut off randomnly. Now if i Lightly turn the ignition back just a tad , without turning to much and shutting it off, it will turn everything back on. Now i dont know if it has to do with the fact that awhile back i replaced my ignition and didnt put back in the retaining screw to keep it in place. So if i want i can pull my ignition out whenever i want. How do I fix. How are the two tied together

finish the job and it should work again, i believe the retaining screw helps provide a ground to the system. oh, and welcome to cherokeeforum.

Obviously its not lining up right and not turning the switch on fully without it being held in place by that screw.

Put the screw in and i bet your problems vanish.

not necessarily, mine does that and it's a stock column. mind you, it's a replacement, but i didn't touch the ignition.

it's a bit of a pita, but i'll just deal with it till the tilt gets sloppy, then i'll just swap out the column again. i have a few spares. haha.

this is an ignition switch problem. the brown wire in your ignition harness runs to the back of the fuse box and operates all this stuff. i had the same problem and after searching for weeks i decided to cut a fuse box and ignition harness out of a parts jeep to see what i could come up with. and i came up with the brown wire from the ignition harness attaches to all of these things items in the back of the fuse panel.

no no no. your true ignition switch is lower on the column connected to the key switch by what i call a coat hanger. all it needs is to be adjusted and the screws tight after thats done.
