WARNING! The headlights are not related to the ign switch. If they started working when you got up in there it is likely you moved the wires to the plug on the headlight switch. They could go back off just as easy!

I have had this problem before 3xs' before, and though the switch didn't look burnt the guts could be. All the symptoms you have especially at the same time point to the ignition switch.
Though with mine the switch failing did have a cascading effect, all of the accessories before mentioned did go out. the switch is a 16$ piece of mind.
The headlights are related to the ign. switch by being the source of power(on an open circut from the switch I believe?). By messing with the switch you bought yourself some time.

No, I don't think so. Being that the headlights work with the ignition switch off, and that being a heck of allot of power...even for the headlight switch sometimes!

If the headlights started working while the ign. switch was being looked at, it's a fair bet the wires to the headlight switch were bumped. Probably it's plug has started to overheat from a less than good connection. A thought anyway....

If it's an '87 chances are both the ignition switch and the headlight switch have seen better days. They get oxidized inside causing the switch to run hot, eventually the connector melts. But they can go intermittent long before the connector looks bad.
I don't see any connection between the headlights and ign switch on the drawing either, looks like the headlamps are powered directly.

On my 90, (same as 87-88 I think), the dash lights, the center console, and the running lights, (front and rear), are all on the same fuse. Maybe worth double checking.

Does anything come on the first detent, (with the **** 1/2 way out) Like the tail lights? If there is nothing anywhere I'd suspect the fuse, (which you checked,.....OK, went and looked. Top right, says "Park Lights"

If that is good and you still get nothing, the switch, or wires to it would be suspect....
