Default New to forum need help/advice

I have a 1998 jeep cherokee 4.0l. My dad bought it brand new in 97 and he recently gave it to me this last year. It has 220,000 miles. I just recently replaced the Crank position sensor and got a new battery. When I am driving the RPMs drop for a second and then continues I believe it to be the throttle position sensor but what do you guys think? And I just got a new battery and it is already dead today and this is the 2nd new battery this has happened to (Thank god for warranty) they said my alternator was good but I'm starting to think otherwise.. so any help guys?

Okay gonna check it out tomorrow, I had to leave it at my girlfriends house due to the battery. When I check that sensor what should I be looking for on it?

You should be able to get your codes read at the parts store for free. Write them down and post them.

See if the battery still goes dead if you remove the NEG terminal while it's sitting. and/or...
Running, your voltage should be around 14 + or minus on an actual meter. If it's not your alt is not doing it, the belt is loose, or your wiring is not "bringing" it. If the blinkers are slow and the headlights are dim...that's not the battery. It only holds what the system has for it....it's just for starting and getting the alternator going to recharge it.

And Welcome to cherokeeforum! Pick up a $5 Harbor Freight meter if you want to actually test anything yourself.
