Hey beloved Jeep people The other day I have rebuilt the roof liner on my '92 limited which actually came out pretty SICK.... Untill then almost everything worked right in the electrical system.
Once the work was done I have re connected the lights and centre consolle roof wires as usual, plugged the battery back in, .... And I found out I had multiple electrical faults!!!
To be precise:
- digital clock stopped working (some times comes up so dimmed you can actually only see it in the dark, and only when you push the button of one of the roof light
)
- roof lights (all of them) stopped working
- central door lock stopped working
- Side mirror adjustment sotpped working
-and what not
Is there something that puts all of these services in common that I might have busted?
I have done a visual inspection of my fuse boxes... All of those little ****s seem very much intact.... do they have to melt necessarily to show the fault?

You will probably need to pull out the circuit diagram to get serious
The overhead console is known to cause issues, you can search this forum
with my 3 XJ, I went thru every fuse and touched each end with a test light,,,takes only a few minutes, quicker than looking up the info in a circuit diagram!

I suspect a ground may not have been connected properly, or was damaged in the process. Sometimes dome lighting and what not grounds through the screws that secure the overhead console/asembly to the roof. You didn't leave any screws out did you?

I can't really think on how this could happens unless a wire Is badly worn? But what u mean for leavin screws out... Like.. if I was left over with some extra screws once everything was out back?

I do not know your level of electrical knowledge, but fault finding skills will be needed, the FSM can be downloaded from Cruisers website

I don't know of one off hand but if you are going to want to continue working on your jeep I would suggest the 15 bucks for a Chilton or Hayes service manual.

YES! The one I downloaded from Cruiser's website for my XJ is better formatted than the one for my WJ that I spent $15 to download from Pacific Coast! They are both basically re-done copies of the Factory Service Manual the dealer techs use.

Today I got kinda stuck for a bit with a *****y fuel filter change and rad burping and by the end of this stuff I was so dirty I didn't want to touch my new liner to fiddle with the wires tomorrow is gonna be the day😂
