Electrical issue on 4 different functions
I have a 94 Cherokee XJ, plain jane. (Not a Grand or Sport. High Country, etc)
It's purely a winter vehicle. 210,000 6 cyl, automatic.
The other day I had my blower motor on High and POOF, I lost at least 4 things at once. No blower motor, no radio, no wipers, no turn signals.
I did find a blown 40amp fuse at the distribution block under the hood, but after replacing it, the four functions above are still not working.
At my fuse block, I'm not seeing 12V for those fuses, but I do have 12V for the other fuses in the block.
What/where could the problem be? I'm pulling my hair out here.
I was thinking inline fuse, or I had read of a "switch" under the dash & on top of the steering column that could be bad. Unfortunately, all I see under there is rainbow spaghetti. Not sure what the switch really looks like if it exists.

all i could really suggest is go through all the fuses... under the hood and under the steering column.... and when you replace your blower motor..... double check or even manually ground it

At the base of the steering colume is the ignition switch harness. Check for battery voltage at the violet colored wire, this is the power feed source for fuses 2,5 + 8. These fuses power up the items you say are not working.
The ground source is G101 which is located near the passenger front behind kick panel

You may be onto something there Willys55.
I do have 12V going into that plug/switch on the pink/green wire, but with the ignition switch 'ON', I do not get 12V on the violet wire.
I don't mind replacing the switch but I don't see how it comes off. (from underneath) Do I need to get to it from the top?
EDIT: Ok, I got my head up in there closer and I think I see a nut and a screw that might be holding the switch in place. Kind of a metal sandwich there. Curious to see how that metal rod will come off the switch.
Oh, by the way. I got the blower motor replaced this afternoon. Sure hope that ends those issues.

this f'r is hard to get to.
I'm kinda fearful that I will not be able to get a new plug head. Anyone know?

I looked quickly today, all the plugs are still there. How much of it are you replacing, just the plug head, or the whole thing (plug head and unit it plugs into)? PM me, I'll check email early tomorrow morning, but am working all day.
