Default electrical issue 00' cherokee sport

Fixed a bunch of things that were originally not working with my exterior lighting. Still having one issue. The driver side running lights don't work, however the front functions as a directional and the back as a brake they just dont work as running lights? Changed bulbs and fuses. Also on my instrument panel where the mileage is displayed is an error code "no bu5".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

so your driver side turn signals work up front and back and your brake light works but you have no parking lights up front on the driver side?

Yeah. No parking lights up front or back on the drivers side but everything else works (backup, directional and brake lights).

Found this about the "no bus" or "bu5" on your dash

and the running light could be a fuse......in my 99 manual the #7 has to do only with the driver side running light, may be the same on a 00

Hope this helps some

Check your grounds up behind you front marker light and behind the rear tail light. Sounds like you lost one of your grounds. A bad fuse iwouldn't cause this. You have one fuse for your entire parking lights circuit. Yet, you have individual grounds at each light fixture.

you have 2 fuses, 1 for the left and 1 for the right. check your fuse panel at the p/side kick panel. My Cherokee had the exact concern, changed the fuse and no problems since. check your owners manual, one other post said fuse #7, that could be it. [don't have my manual here].

Well, this Left and Right side SEPARATE fuses for the parking lights only, must be a 96+ Cherokee thing. My old 91 XJ has ONE fuse for the entire parking lamp circuit. Sorry if I gave you bad guoge.
