Every once in a while my check engine light comes on and the speedometer goes to zero. At other times my gas gauge goes to zero with the speedometer. Then for no apparent reason the light goes off and the gauges return to normal. No codes are stored when this happens. An electrican could not find any problems, but was able to solve the problem(temporarily as it turned out) by wiggling wires. Unfortunately he doesn't know which wires "solved" the problem. The car is a 1999 Jeep Cherokee, 4 cylinder, manual transmission. Any suggestions about what is causing the problem?
