So I noticed my AC was blowing warm air. Used the forums to troubleshoot and long story short I think I just need to recharge HOWEVER...
Electric fan will not turn on. I'm reading that in '00/'01 years it only comes on when coolant temp is ~218 or AC is on. My thermostat seems to open at just above 210 so I'm not sure it's gotten hot enough to turn the fan on.
Is the fan supposed to spin freely? I cannot spin it so I'm assuming it's seized. I've checked fuses and did replace a busted one in the PDC. I've also tried jumping the fan to the battery with no luck.
In short, is the fan not going on related to AC issues? Is it supposed to be in a fixed position until it kicks on itself?
Thanks for your help, I've been searching all day.

Negative, '00-01 efan turns on at 218F coolant temp or when a/c system pressure reaches a set psi. On '99 down XJs, efan turns on at 218 coolant temp or whenever the compressor engages. The efan should spin freely when off.

Dang it, figured. Looks like I'll have to replace it. I don't have any overheat issues. (Good thing I have a 0331 head, changed my oil, not milky, not losing coolant so keeping an eye on it).
I just hope my AC issue is a simple recharge. All fuses are fine and if I'm correct the compressor clutch will not engage if there's no coolant/freon.
