ecm switch? HELP
I have a 9995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 with I6. Original motor was bad and I installed a motor from a 1996 Grand Cherokee. Should I use injectors from the 95 or does it make no difference? What about the ECM? Will the 95 run the 96 motor okay or do I need one from a 96? I have idle issues and bad fuel economy.
95 is OBD1, most of the 96's are OBD2. You can use either one as long as you use everything that goes with it...sensors, ECM, etc. If you are using the '95 sensors, the '95 ECM should be fine. The motor itself is basically the same thing, it's the electronics that are different.
Did not know that. I am using all the parts that were on the 96 with the 95 ecm. Do I need to get a 1996 ecm? Or what do I need to change on my 96 motor to be compatible with the 95 ECM? Detailed info please.
