front axle problems

Default front axle problems

I have a high pinion dana 30 with the vacuum diconnect im in the process of fixing the passenger side axle seal but i keep running into problems my problem now is i got the roll pin out that held the pin in that holds the spider gears in and now the pin that holds the spider gears in wont come out because its hitting the ring gear am i missing something here ?

some grind the tip of the gear off, or you have to pull the carrier out and take the ring gear off. If you do pull the carrier out, make sure to put the shims back the way they cam out. Instal exactly how it came out. Use lock tight on the ring gear bolts and torque to spec. But again alot of people grind the tooth a little. Not much. You are that far into it just pull the carrier in my opinion!
