i pulled up to the store put it in park and it just turned off the jeep without turning the key. now it will crank but no start. lucky jeep is around the corner. was runnin fine till this. goin back to mess with it. has anyone had this problem. just tryin to find a good starting point. thanks

Try starting it in nutrial,then do you hear your fuel pump prim ,the look at your engine too see if any thing came unplugged,it also has to crank over pretty healthy to fire.

 

i tried nothing yet, fuel p sounds normal. but my pump sounds like it is running all the time. goin to go check for spark and do a little more cleaning of connectors, get a better look. thanks, b back.

 

crank sensor could be the culprit

 

nothing visable. but after just moving some stuff around under jeep near the tranny it fired up for about 30 sec. then died. gonna get some help turning the key as i move some stuff around. just put a new tps and cps.be back soon

 

since this problem was set off the second i put it in park ,should i assume it is the neutral safty switch or harness . or does it not matter that it happened when i put it in park ? thanks

 

fuel pump ballast resistor still connected?

 

female part of cps connector, going to harness. i suspected that was the culpret from last time i had a similiar prob.but i messed with so much stuff that i couldnt be certain. so i stabbed the back of wires with the pointy end of a continuity tester and it woke its old *** up. fired rite up. thanks again every one. till the next episode
