Default EBAY Brakes

I don't know if anyone has ever done a post about EBAY brakes but here is my experience with them . I bought 4 rotors and pads for my sons 2001 Grand Prix 2 years ago , I had to change them after only 7500 miles . They had very little pad left and the rotors were junk , now maybe my son drives with his foot on the brake . But I did put a EBAY set on my XJ at the same time and after I did it the brakes never felt right and didn't have the same braking power as before . I checked them while putting on my fender flares and yep after maybe 10000 miles they are toast . I attached some pictures of the Grand Prix rear brakes , I guess the saying is you get what you pay for .

That's what happens when you buy cheaply made Chinese junk on eBay.

Try Brakemotive.
Have them on 4 vehicles with great results.

Just installed some EBC pads and rotors and big difference in braking power . The only bad thing about the EBC is they seem a little longer and very thick so had to install without the shims . So far no noise but might run them for a week and then see if I can get the shims on .

I like EBC for rotors, but I prefer Hawk HPS for pads. Just my preference.

I live on a hill that can be pretty mean on brakes, 35 years. About 1/2 of that with Jeeps. Any idiot can bake any brake pad/shoe here. Some died. Gotta use the engine/trans to come down . Myself, whatever Napa hands me seems to work OK.

I use Hawk pads on my Jeeps and have had them on all of my race cars for over 20 yrs. best braking and fade resistance in hard use.

^This, If you want the "best" and are willing to pay for it Hawk, EBC, etc. are the way to go, but for "normal" use just about anything but the cheap junk from eBay or the cheapest "budget" pads/ rotors at the auto parts store will hold up much better.

On my XJ I have Wagner ThermoQuiet shoes and Bendix drums on the rear and Raybestos Element 3 EHT pads and Raybestos rotors on the front and all have held up well at a total cost (front & rear) of around $150 (online). You can get substantially better parts than the junk on eBay for not much more from Rockauto, Amazon, etc.
