Default easy way to drain the block of coolant?

Long story short. Coolant got mixed in my 99 about 3 years ago..since then I've had 2 radiators go 2 t-stats 1 waterpump..replaced all the hoses..and cleaned it out as best I could while the waterpump was out..the mud that is now in there is no where near as bad as it was and nothing clogs anymore but was wondering if anyone knows of a way to get all of the coolant out so I can start over as fresh as possible?

Only if the plug(s) on the drivers side of the block would come out easy. Most of the few folks that have attempted to remove them, to drain the block, have said they are PITA. Next best way to get a good flush/drain of the head/block is to flush with both the t-stat cover and water pump removed. Stick a garden hose in the t-stat hole.

^ x2 you can go to your local auto store and rent the kit to do a flush to if you don't have everything torn apart already.

thanks for the answers... when i replaced the waterpump and the t-stat i ran water through in any direction i could for probably a good 2 hours till it ran clean but the mud still shows up in my overflow and on the cap .. not nearly as chunky or sandy as it was.. was planning on flushing it in the spring (too cold for it now).. was just hoping it could be the last time i have to do it for a while.. temps are all fine i just hate the idea that theres still basically sand blowing around in there.

Garden Jose. Haha. But Nah this works well. At least that's how I did it. I did find a like flush kit at Advanced. I've yet to try it though.

Try this next spring, remove the heater hose and top rad hose from the t-stat cover and remove the bottom rad hose from the water pump (much easier with the air filter box removed). Stick the garden hose in the heater hose, then in the top rad hose, then in the heater hose nipple on the t-stat cover. Doing it this way, u don't flush crud/crap from one place to the other.

Cast iron motors rust easily when coolant corrosion protection degrades. Keep close tabs on coolant color and drain/flush again as soon as color starts to change from green/yellow to off green/yellow. The more u stay on top of it, the longer it'll stay green/yellow between drain/flushes.

I swear the next time I have access to those block plugs on either of my Jeeps, I'm gonna install a petcock with a nipple on it.
