E Brake Cable question

Default E Brake Cable question
Will the E brake cables from a D35 XJ axle work for a 8.25? The donor axle I ended up with has cut cables and I was hoping to avoid having to track down new ones.

The e-brake system is fairly simple, so other than length of cables, I can't see why not..but I could be wrong here, never had to change it. Are you talking about the whole cable assembly?
