Duplicolor Bedliner questions
Couple of questions about Duplicolor Bedliner:
1. Will it smell if the Jeep is parked in the sun and the interior get's hot?
2. After preping the surface, how do I go about getting all that dust and stuff off?
I know that proper prep will prevent me from having to redo the bedliner. Please give me your input for the answer's to my questions.

Duplicolor:
cost per gallon : 59.00
What's it made of : liquid vinyl polymer
Is it textured : No
Herculiner:
cost per gallon : 99.00
What's it made of : polyurethane
Is it textured : Yes, with intergrated rubber granules
You get what you pay for. 60 bucks get you vinyl that WILL peel sooner or later. 100 buck get you poly that will last as long as your Jeep will. I'm sure someone who put duplicolor on last week will chime in about how great it look, and how durable it is. I'm not talking out of my **** here. I did a whole truck bed with it, it was sanded and cleaned with thinner before it was applied. After sitting in the hot CA sun for several years there was only about 10% of it still left, the rest peeled/flaked off. I've also used Herculiner several times and it has impressed me every time. Spend a little extra and do it right once.

The first jeep I bedlined inside of was a buddy of mine's yj. I used the kit (rollers, scuff pad, etc) and it started peeling in a month (He didn't care, I did it for free). I've since done my old samurai, my old xj, and the some exterior on my new xj. I get a couple of cheap paint brushes (short brissles) and after I sand, clean (windex), and tape, I use the brush to paint it on but in a dabbing motion (strokes leave less texture). I haven't had any start peeling.

Wow, well its def. between Duplicolor and Herucliner. I'm leaning towards the Herucliner a bit more now, its more costly, but seems to have better reviews. My dad's not on the boat yet, but he'll soon come around, I am applying POR-15 to certain areas of the floor then bedliner to the entire floor to protect it for the long run. I def. don't want to do this more than once. I talked to a buddy of mine and he said he picked Herucliner to use on his CJ-5 because they used it on the enterance for the Marching Band Instrument moving truck. I would like to keep costs down but in the interest of only having to do this once, and not wanting to shell out more money if it starts to peel, I will probably go back to advanced auto parts and return the Duplicolor, and buy Herucliner instead. I'm going to marinate on it. thanks for the help
