Please help, I have my dash torn apart and am waiting for a reply here before I put it back together.
My CEL and ABS lights didn't work on the dash, so today I tore it apart to find out lo and behold those 2 bulbs are shattered. I run to O'Reilly's and get some new ones relace and test. No CEL so that's good, but the ABS light stays illumintaed. Now I notice the little slip of plastic that covers those lights someone has blacked out the ABS portion with some rubber cement or something. The brakes work absolutely fine and when we put the lift in a few months ago, my buddy(expert mechanic) checked the brakes and said they all looked to be in great shape. What do I do? Take it to a shop and check the ABS, or pull the bulb and forget about it, since everything works fine? Thanks guys as always your input is as valuable as my Haynes manual.

just checked the fuse under the dash, it's fine. Is there another fuse for it in the PDC? If so do you know which one? My PDC doesn't match the diagram in my owner's manual....
Just saw your repost. Which are the other 2?

Ok, all the fuses in the PDC are fine and the relay looks fine, no corrosion or charring on the leads. Is there another way to tell if the relay is bad? Are all the relays in there the same? So could I swap it with the one for the aux fan which I know works and see if that takes care of it? Or do the codes have to be cleared manually no matter if the problem is fixed?

ok, cool. Thanks for that PDF link! That will be useful! At this point I am going to pull the bulb and have my buddy clear the codes at work on Tuesday. According to my manual if the ABS system does not work "the system reverts to standard non-anti-lock brakes" and since I imagine this light has been on since I bought it back in March and I'm not dead yet(and I live in a very hilly area) that I will at least make it until then when I can make a more informed decision. Thanks for the help and quick responses skunkape!

lol, glad I don't have on of them then! Funny thing is a few weeks ago I was going down a steep hill too fast, and I jammed on them good and I felt it pulsing as thought the ABS was working. I'm gonna just hope it's some codes that need to be cleared. Oh well, I'm more than happy, I was nervous that I was gonn pull a CEL when I swapped the bulbs. Also a little curious as to why the bulbs were broken... Not burned out, but actually smashed.
