Default Dumb suspension question, but you never know til you ask.

So the entire rear suspension needs to be replaced on my 96 XJ. I have most of the parts on the way, I'll still have to pick up the leaf spring bushings when I get the leaf springs delivered next week. I got the shocks locally, today, since that was the best deal.

I like to get stuff done as soon as possible. Since I have the shocks, can I go ahead and put them in now without causing damage to them? The reason I ask is because the current old leaf springs are the originals with 214k miles on them and flat as hell. In fact, if someone is sitting in the back seat at all, the passenger side spring is inverted. O_o

I'm pretty sure it would be fine but let's let someone else chime in here...

Only thing that would hurt them is bottoming out. You shouldn't have that problem

I plan in letting it sit there in the drive way, but wanted to know just in case I do have to take it to go get beer. Haha. (Or anything else really).

Thanks guys.
