Ok peops I got a 01 sport. Long story short I took the end caps off the front bumper and noticed a black ball screwed to the bumper. What is it? Im half butt mechanically inclined. I want to paint the stock bumper and trim it like a few of you but its right in my way.

 

It is your vacuum ball. The lines control your hvac system, cruise control, etc. It can be relocated to where ever it fits, probably by the firewall since the lines go in there anyways.

lol yeah my ac is regulated based on how many windows are down, how far they are down, and how fast i am going. The vacuum ball is used for a few other things too, most people say it should be kept.

 

Yea 4x4 being one of them.....so definently keeping it
