Ya but 2 one for fluid going in and one for going out gives you a real good idea of what they're doing for you.

yea i found that out after cutting the hole in the pan and just never got around to changing it, only hit those high temps 2x haulin a trailer up mountain passes in 35*C+, mind you the fluid was always good at changes and never smelt of burnage......however 5yrs of serious abuse on and offroad it kicked the bucket, im thinkin electrical end of things more so than mechanical and ive gone to the AX15 as ive come to enjoy standards more.

The only number that matters is the temp where fluid exits the tranny.....temp exiting the cooler(s) doesn't tell ya much. My tranny's burning up but the fluid is nice-n-cool comming out of the cooler(s). LOL

What would be interesting to see is a comparison of tranny temps with stock diameter tires vs taller tires. Bet there would be a raised eyebrow or two.

yes but keep in mind that most of the gauges out there are not going to give you a range that will show you much difference in that situation...if that makes sense. Like most only show 20* increments

here is where my gauge was mounted, Autometer Sportcomp 2 5/8" on a pedestal mount, its actually only held on with 2sided tape on the pedestal and bottom of gauge and a piece against the windshield to prevent vibes, stayed there for 3yrs and never moved until i took it out.

Sorry it's still in developing stages and don't have any finished pics of it. It's off an RV if anyone wants to know where to get one

Just an observation, but it's recommended to NOT mount a cooler with the fittings on the bottom to prevent trapping air in the cooler...

Default What do you think of this transmission cooler?

1. large 11x9x1.5" Dana cooler, OEM quality, same one used by B&M as an engine cooler.
2. Custom bracket designed for a 99 body Cherokee grille, not sure if it will wo.rk on early grille, need to check
3. Uses 2 upper factory bolts, requires drilling for lower only.
4. All -6 (3/8") AN fit fittings and push-loc hose, can also use SS, and special fittings to convert the hard line to AN -6

I have been wanting to add a larger transmission cooler for years. I finale took the time (2 days, hey I'm retired) I go to Baja and lots of 4wheeling, transmission temps have always been a concern...
I think it's the only cooler you would need, there is a 11"x11" I could mount.
I did remove the factory cooler that was mounted. Still runs in the radiator but that can me bypassed too.
let me know what you think?

Looks good, it should cool very well. When the tubes are vertical, just make sure fluid flows into the cooler at the bottom and out the top. When the tubes are horizontal, flow can be either way.

1st remove the headlight bezels, then the grille from there u just kinda gotta get in there and start fashioning/mounting a bracket(s) for the deminsions of your cooler. Search "tranny cooler" and u'll find lots of pics. The top tranny fluid line on the drivers side of the rad is the tranny fluid return line. That's the line to splice the auxiliary cooler into.

i ran two small ones the stock one from my cherokee and then had a buddy with an 88 bronco 2 and used both i wouldnt go more than that . if your worried about heat id put a temp gauge on your tranny and run a small eletric fan too itt maybe run a mock setup and see how it works never hurts to try and could possiable benifit just keeping it cooler .
