Does anyone have any issues with there U joint in the front DS at the axle hitting the exhaust down pipe? I have have checked to make sure the axle is centered but when I go play I come back with a hole there. I have welded it shut and its ok til I play again. I do not know what do to. Anyone?

I have this problem also. I have a new motor with new motor mounts and a borla header. If my left front tire drops in a hole the drive shaft will hit the header. I havn't wheeled it hard yet, but when I do I was just going to weld it up like you are doing.

It took a little work and a lot of hunting in junkyards for the correct pipe. You will need to get the down pipe within 1-1/2" of the motor.
It can be done

The same thing happened to me, I just put a new complete system in mine. I got a new pipe for about 40 at Advance it come very close to the pan. I also changed the motor mounts. They were both trash. With the new mounts the engine does not move so I think that will fix the bashed pipe issue. Beware I have to remove the oil filter adapter which I have repaired about 3 months ago that was leaking. That sucks but I got it back together with new O rings in about 1/8 the time because I knew what I had to do to get them done. No oil leaks, No more exhaust noise, and new mounts to boot, what a deal!
