Default Driveshaft questions?

I am adding 2" to my 3.5" lift and putting 34" LTB and putting revolver shackles on it. I was wondering if I changed the angle of my rear axle would I need to buy a slip-yoke eliminator or lengthen my driveshaft? Does anyone know how much it would to lengthen the driveshaft?

Yes you are probably going to need a SYE, but for the DS you can use a stock auto XJ front shaft for the rear with the use of a SYE.

you will need a sye for revolvers.

but take some time to reconsider purchasing a set of whacky skackles. if you wheel, don't get them. if you like to impress the 14 year old teenage boys on the loading ramps at the mall, then do it up

X2 on the B.S. shackles. Have heard they like to break when you are out in the woods with no hope of recovery. I know someone that bought a set and went wheeling. Came home took them off and sold them on Ebay. They can extend on steep climbs, such as ledges, rocks and what not and throw your pinion angle off enough to make it fail. Not a good thing, unless flexing at loading docks is your bag. Sorry Racer, had to bite your stuff. The ironic thing is, the first vehicle I lifted I took it to a loading dock to see how it flexed. TOTAL POSER!! Now, I know the deal!! MUCH LOVE JEEPHEADS!!!

Default SYE issue resolved for around $25

Just wanted to let people know. I have a 93 cherokee 3" lift with 31's and have resolved the SYE issue simply by going to a salvage yard and finding a used driveshaft that was 1" longer than the stock. I have had no leaks or issues since and it only cost me $25 much cheaper than the $400 dollar alternative. Hope this helps some.

This would help:

http://www.crownautomotive.net/catal...r_shafts2.html

XJ 89/01 4.0 Automatic 30.660 53005542

That's what i am using in the back with my PORC SYE kit. I recommend the PORC sye because it's basically the same as all the other sye kits but only around $180. Cheap!

Still a SYE take the stress off of the front u-joint so a longer ds is just a band-aid IMHO.

Correct. Even if you lengthen the DS, you still have the same crappy angles so that's a waste of $$.

Do not buy revolvers. They will get you hurt or broken a long ways from home. Had to fab up a set of shackles for a buddy and drive up and put them on his junk 300 miles from home after his brand new revolvers broke in a deep mudhole on his way to Gilmer for an event.

if anything get the boomerang style that's just angled not the actual revolver style...seen those on other non jeep 4x4's break fast..

Look into something like these for shackles...
