Driveshaft help!?!
I installed my SYE today. The driveshaft I got from the JY isn't long enough. When I got it, I measured it a 33" from ujoint to ujoint fully compressed. I went to instal it today and it was about 2" too short when fully extended. I guess I will get it extended but I am having a hard time finding a place to do it at a resonable price. The one place I called wants $60/H labor and estimates 2 hours of work. Right now i'm running front wheel drive and this is my DD. I can't afford a new one from Tom Woods. So my question is: Does anyone know where, close to Zip 15717, is a shop that will do it for cheaper than $120?

Did you think about the XJ or ZJ front CV driveshaft from a junkyard? It would be just like Iron Rock Off Road's hack-n-tap kit. Here is a link where they mention the origin of the drive shaft.

P.S. I used to have a nice looking drivable jeep similar to yours...

The one I have, I thought it was out of a 95 ZJ. guess I was wrong.
P.s.: My Jeep looks noting like that one now. that picture was taken 15 months ago and since then I have added: smittybilt xrc8, custom front bumper, custom rear bumper w/ tire carrier, 5.5" lift, bilstein 5100's all 4 corners, dynamax exhaust, cold air intake, hood vents, bushwacker cutouts, 31x10.5 dakota difinity's, 8x15 crager soft 8's w/ center caps, bedlined the rockers up to the door sils, Uniden Cb w/ K40 4' whip, adjustable UCA and LCA's, Super drop pittman arm, RC adj trackbar w/ new drop bracket, steel braided brake lines, PORC HD SYE, 3% window tint, and a bunch of stickers. Not to mention the body damage of wheeling.
