Thanks everyone for the help. I scored a BRAND NEW driveshaft from a 94 5.2 auto zj. It measures 33" compressed. Only 75$$$ shiny new driveshaft with u-joints. Guy had just bought it and then totaled his zj.

I picked one up yesterday at the JY. $60 is a fair price. Now I just have to replace the u joints because I don't trust them. I have no idea how many miles are on them so it's time for new ones

Its not the u-joints you should worry about they are cheap. Its the centering ball inside the double-carden joint, its like 85 bucks for the rebuild kit. I just had to replace both front and rear driveshafts in the last 6 months because new ones were cheaper than rebuilding.
