Hi I'm new here and searched, but there wasn't any prior post I could find as a newbie here. My driverside window rocks fore and aft when I roll the window down. Is there a fix for this? I've replaced a power windo actuator on my 99' Lexus GS400, so I have the ability to fix this I just don't know if this is maybe the track unscrewing from the inner door or what. How is the door panel held on, clips? I'm getting a manual tomorrow. Anyone ever have this problem? BTW-this is my first 4x4 and first Jeep (99 4wd 4dr 4.0) and freaking GET the addiction to these things! Thank you guys!
My passenger window has that fore and aft movement. I need to open it up and see what the issue is. If I find anything that might prove helpful, I'll let you know....
I pulled it apart yesterday and didn't find anything abnormal other than the white plastic stops on the window were not "set" correctly. I made that adjustment, lubed the rail up and for now, the window appears to be working properly. Hope this helps....

Thanks for the replies guys.
Crow Horse-where are those stops located exactly? I pulled the door panel off and didn't see of feel anything loose. I didn't know where those are located. Thanks!

The "stops" are where the bolts that secure the window are. They are white plastic and should be rotated when the bolts are loosened all the way to to track stop. This pic illustrates this well. It's from Steiger Performance who make a Cherokee window regulator fix.
As luck would have it, today my passenger window acted up again. I'll have to check the weather stripping.....

If you go to their website you can see the complete instructions on the regulator repair (although this isn't our problem). This is pretty complete and will give you a good idea about our power windows and disassembly/assembly.......

Crow Horse-I can't thank you enough for your illustrated response! That helps so much and due to my "OCD" personality, will help me not clinch my teeth when I roll down/up the window! Thanks again and good luck with YOUR window.!

Crow Horse-I read through the instruction sheet. So, are you able to adjust those plastic tab without removing the whole set-up? I know I have to remove the panel and moisture barrier. Thank you.
Update - It might very well be an issue with the weather stripping. I took silicone spray and shot it down the weather stripping in the channel where the window rides. For now, the stuck window is resolved, but I suspect it's only a short term fix.....
