Default Drivers side power window switch

I need to replace this and because I am a RHD Jeep, i am limited with replacing it (more availbility in the US)

I have compared the two units (RHD and LHD) and they look identical - mounting points in door trim - layout of switches.

The only difference is the window / door locks are opposite.

Your drivers window is my passenger etc.

If I used a US model and pressed the Drivers window switch to go down, that will make the left side go down right? (your drivers, my passenger?)

I can't help with your question...just wanted to mention. Where the wires flex at the door jamb sometimes they break inside there where you can't see. Sometimes you can feel through the insulation that something isn't right.

The switches should be interchangeable, the wiring determines which switch does what. Can you keep your current switch panel and just replace the bad switches?

i looked at the wiring schematic for a 99xj for lhd and rhd and they are identical. the only thing i can see that my be different is the wording on your switch panel. is it possible to pop the bezel of your existing switch and use it on the switch assembly for the lhd unit?

It turns out it is not the master switch, I borrowed another one and the problem is still there....obviously a connection somewhere...where do I look? In the door jam?

Yeah, start there- that harness flexes every time you open and close the door.

How do you open the rubber grommet in the door jam?

If you really want to have a good look. Take off the kick panel, unplug the 3 or 4 plugs, pull the rubber grommet out ( maybe use a flat head to help you), take off door panel and unplug all connections and pull out your whole wiring harness. Likely you will find broken wires near the door jam area. I recomend just pulling the harness because if you are going to fix it you will need to do this anyway. Either replace broken wire's or get another harness from a junkyard. Good luck.

To do much with the wires between the switch, and where they go through at the door jamb, removing the door "thing" you can Kick" , gives you access to all sorts of stuff in there. It has plastic "clippydeals" (Wikipedia failed me here) . I find a Stanly Flat bar (a carpenters tool) is handy for prizing the interior door panel off. Having the "nose" very near the thing really helps having it pull out of the door, instead of ripping out of the door panel. No big deal if some come out wrong. Screw it.

That's all I have (actually I have no wires there, besides speakers), but copper breaks when flexed too many times.

You might actually push pins through the insulation to check if they are broken. Also maybe hold the switch and move things, the door the wire there at the jamb.

I'm gonna tackle this next weekend (I'll open door in drive throughs in the meantime)
I'll get some new wiring and individually pull each wire from the from the window switch through the door jam and then route the new one on a wire.
To undo the pins from the connector, you just stick a jewelery screen driver in there right?
Thanks for the help guys

First, I can't answer your question. Second, I've seen blade connectors where the female has a "tale". "barb" deal that holds it in a connector. I've used the (yellow Wiss) shears to make little deals that I could push into little places to free such things. IdK.

It sure would be cool if you could get an intermittent connect, messing with the wires through the jamb, while someone holds the switch. If that happened you could zero in.
