Default Driver side door wont open! Help!

I have a 96 xj and the driver side door won't open! It won't open from te inside or the outside. And before anyone asks, yea it's unlocked. Any ideas? I need to get it open so I can weld my new floor pan in. Thanks in advance.

I did that, couldn't get it to open. I'm pretty sure that spring attached to the back of the button is bad. When I press the button I can feel it try to actuate but it doesn't go far enough. I'm at work, but after work I hope to find the problem.

I got te door open by locking and unlocking it with the key, the pressing the door handle button as hard as I could and at the same time take a flathead, between the doors shoved into the actual lock that goes around the door pin, and pryed the lock while pulling and pushing the button in.
