I got a funny story bout that. My friend had a rusty's 6.5" adj short arm on his 95 4dr auto. then i traded him some stuff and we put it on my 94 cherokee 2dr 5spd and my driveshaft went vring! and shot out on the highway. he ran the stock driveline in his with the 6.5 for a year not one prob.

and if anything unless you get a sye kit see if the cherokee 4.0l 2wd or cherokee 4cyl 4wd shafts will work. they are bit longer than 4.0l 4wd.

sye= slip yoke eliminator. if you look on the tech thread page there is acutally some talk about it now. but basically it moves the slip and makes the tcase mount a solid mount. then you have to get a driveline similar to your front one. just post a thread saying your new to it and really dunno what it is. trust me you'll get replies.

heres a link to a pic of one.
