Angry Coolant Temp sensor in Thermostat housing?

Just wondering if i can place a renix coolant temp sensor in a 1992 thermostat housing and have it work properly?

Dont know if 97 jeep cherokee 4.0 has a port on the engine block where i can mount the sensor. Does anyone know if they plugged the sensor hole on the 97 engine block?

Need help. Engine is running rich and rough and back firing.

um sounds like a o2 sensor as well but no the 1st gen 4.0l has a way different sensor than the 4.0l H.O. you might be able to splice in a newer plug on your old harness and then change the housing for your thermostat to run new sensor. idk I haven't looked into it much yet but i hate the old style harness and sensors.
