drainplug on a BA/10 Puegot tranny
i got this crappy puegot trans that completely sucks. all gears grind real sloppy i didnt know it had this when i bought it.
what size is the drain plug? its not a 3/8 drainplug...3/8 is too big. and 1/4 inch is too small. its square drive but for some reason its in between...what size is it?
and what fluid should i put in this thing so that it will last...same as the AX15?

It's 5/16" or 8m/m square (same size) and you can make a drive tool out of a 5/16" or 8m/m cheap hex key. It takes about two minutes with a grinder - you just grind down the two opposite corners (usually the ones on the sides of the wrench) until it measures 5/16" across the new flats.
Use GL-5 gear lube - the EP additives help the aluminum (!) synchroniser rings last. If/when you switch to an AX-15, switch the gear oil to GL-3 (the AX-15 uses bronze synchronisers, and the added sulphur in conventional GL-5 will dissolve the metal. You can use "performance synthetic" GL-5 if they specifically state they are safe for use with yellow metals; or, if you live in a colder climate, you can use 10W-40 engine oil.
